La mayoría de los jóvenes no sabe otro idioma y eso los limita
El 70% de los relevados dijo que sólo habla el castellano, a pesar de que casi todos recibieron la enseñanza de al menos una lengua extranjera. Esto les complica el acceso a las nuevas tecnologías y es un problema para conseguir trabajo.
Se manejan a sus anchas con el por lo menos singular argot del chat. Intercambian extraños “jeroglíficos” en los mensajes de texto del celular y se comunican (con más sospechas que certezas) con palabras extranjeras de moda entre sus pares. Sin embargo, apenas tres de cada diez jóvenes argentinos sabe una segunda lengua además del castellano. Según los expertos, en un mundo globalizado e intercultural, hablar sólo español es una problema que, además de limitar su acceso a la tecnología, acota las posibilidades futuras en el terreno profesional y laboral. Teachers helping teachers to integrate new technologies
It is with great pleasure that Nelba Quintana and Jennifer Verschoor announce the creation of ARCALL (Argentine Computer Assisted Language Learning).
The idea of creating ARCALL started in August in 2008 when they both were granted a scholarship to attend WorldCall 2008 in Japan.
Why are they called Teachers helping Teachers? Their goal is to keep teachers up to date on current technological events. Therefore, they are planning the first ARCALL conference in August 2009.
